America’s Polo Cup World Championships is one of the world’s premier televised charity polo sporting events and the largest United States polo experience in the Washington DC Capitol Region. Each year a different nation challenges the United States at the America’s Polo Cup with events held in the fall and the spring on the
National Mall featuring live performances by world wide recognized headliners, art, design, fashion, wine, military government exhibitions, family fun and a spectacular fireworks show. Tickets are required for both events.

Location and Transportation
The Polo Games are located in a secured area at
West Potomac Park, near Ohio Drive just west of the Tidal Basin.
Parking near the National Mall is limited. The best way to get to the event is by
Metro. A shuttle will run continuously from the Smithsonian Metro to West Potomac Park during the hours of the events.
America’s Polo Cup Opening Ceremonies
The opening ceremonies in September will include a reception with a Polo match being played amongst the Ladies and Men present at the Washington DC National Mall. The United States Marines Corps Fife & Drum Ceremonial unit will kick off the event, followed with a major performance by Dancing with the Stars participant and musical superstar “MYA”. Concluding the evening, after the award-ceremony will be a reception at the famed Jockey Club at the Official Hotel, The Fairfax at Embassy Row. Other special guests include superstar “will.i.am”. General Admission tickets are $25-$150.
America’s Polo Cup World Championships
In June 2010, 4-member polo teams will compete on the National Mall in Washington DC. This co-operative effort combines military partners from both countries, the Embassy of India, the Diplomatic Corps, and US elected officials. Receptions will be celebrated with tastings from award-winning Virginia wineries and Kingfisher brewed beverages followed by the national anthems of both the nations performed alive by Grammy award winner Claude McKnight of Take 6.
