Gaithersburg Summer Entertainment Schedule 2013

Free Activities in the City of Gaithersburg

The City of Gaithersburg hosts family-friendly free performances as part of its summer entertainment series. From a Beatles Tribute Band to a musical zoo to outdoor movies and backyard concerts, the On Stage series brings summer fun to Gaithersburg, Maryland. All outdoor performances are free. Following is the 2013 schedule:

Concerts and Performances at the City Hall Pavilion

Entertainers sing, dance and captivate audiences with gospel music and dance, funk, bluegrass, swing, choral sing-a-longs, variety bands, and much more.

June 1, 3:30 - 8:30 pm - Jubilation Day - Celebration of Gospel Music featuring Jay Caldwell & the Gospel Ambassadors also regional and local entertainers

June 6, 10:30 a.m. - Paul Hadfield as “Spats” - Juggling, unicycling, music, and physical comedy bring alive the excitement and warmth of Vaudeville.

June 13, 10:30 a.m. - YOSI (with EUGENE & Johnny Beirne)- Eugene is a super-exuberant monster who is misunderstood. Award-winning children's recording artist Yosi and puppeteer/actor Johnny Beirne use songs, stories and humor to bring kids closer to understanding that being different is not just good, it's fantastic.

June 20, 10:30 a.m. - John Hadfield: Monkeys in the House - Enjoy magic, music, juggling, and silly high-spirited comedy as you flap your arms, tap your feet and unleash your inner monkey.

June 27, 10:30 a.m. - The SIGN-a-long Sing-a-long - Explore American Sign Language through music and stories as storyteller Kathy MacMillan teaches you to sign some of your favorite songs.

July 11, 10:30 a.m. - Mister G - Mister G is a highly educated musician who writes music that spans genres, instruments and languages (he’s fluent in Spanish), as well as funny kid topics that educate and inspire.

July 18, 10:30 a.m. - Leonardo - Parents' Choice Award-winning family musician writes and performs songs that entertain, educate and empower audiences of all ages and abilities.

July 25, 10:30 a.m. - Now This! Improv - Interactive musical children’s theater where kids shout out their ideas, and the cast instantly turns them into songs, comic sketches & musical fairy tales.

August 1, 10:30 a.m. - Ryan Buckle and Friends - Ryan Buckle sings and plays songs from his debut CD, “Swamp Stomp Boogie,” featuring music that highlights discoveries kids can make at the zoo.

August 8, 10:30 a.m. - Uno, Dos, Tres con Andrés! - This interactive children’s show teaches Spanish language and Latin American culture as children sing, shake and sound out rhythms while trying regional Latin dances and practicing Spanish words.
