The City of Gaithersburg hosts family-friendly free performances as part of its summer entertainment series. From a Beatles Tribute Band to a musical zoo to outdoor movies and backyard concerts, the On Stage series brings summer fun to Gaithersburg, Maryland. All outdoor performances are free.

May 31, 3:30 - 8:30 pm - Jubilation Day - Celebration of Gospel Music featuring Alysia Hall, Elder Boykins & the Ministers of Praise, Emphasis Band, First Baptist Church Choir, His W.I.L., Juan Rivas, Kenneth Anderson, Music Makers Choir, Seneca Creek Community Church, Spiritual Jubilees of Washington, DC, and Tammilee P. Jules.

Summer 2014 Kids Entertainment Series

Concerts are held on Thursdays, June 5 through July 31 at 10:30 a.m. at the City Hall Concert Pavilion.  From magic to theater to science, parents and children alike will enjoy the variety of free performances.

June 5 – Cantaré -  Latin Music - Drawing from the musical heritage of the Caribbean, Central and South America, Cantaré performs an entertaining blend of songs in Spanish and Portuguese, while sharing the music's cultural and historical background.

June 12 – Jay Mattioli - Magician - Experience a unique combination of stunning visual magic with comedy, audience interaction, a touch of dance, and an unsurpassable style.

June 19 – Yosi Meets Eugene – Music and Puppets - Eugene is a super-exuberant monster who is misunderstood. Award-winning children's recording artist Yosi and  puppeteer/actor Johnny Beirne use songs, stories and humor to bring kids closer to understanding that being different is not just good, it's fantastic.

June 26 – Eric Energy - Science - Eric Energy is a master at bringing scientific concepts to young audiences and making learning fun with his live, interactive, hands-on science show.

July 10 – Alden Phelps - Music - Alden’s far-fetched, funny songs and impressive guitar playing will delight audiences.

July 17 – Thirst ‘n’ Howl - Theater - Experience entertaining and educational theater with Thirst ‘n’ Howl.

July 24 – The Kids on the Block – Puppets and Local Safety Officers - Unforgettable educational programming that brings important life lessons to children.

July 31 - Uno, Dos, Tres con Andrés! – Music, Spanish - This interactive children’s show teaches Spanish language and Latin American culture as children sing, shake and sound out rhythms while trying regional Latin dances and practicing Spanish words.
