Passport DC Highlights
- Saturday, May 2, 2009, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Embassy Open Houses will showcase embassies from Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, and the Americas, with artists and artisans, performers, lecturers, teachers, and others provide a range of educational and cultural programming designed for people of all ages.
- Saturday, May 9, 2009, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. International Children’s Festival. The Meridian International Center hosts an interactive and educational fair promoting cultural exchange introducing families to world geography, dress, and traditions. See photos of the 2008 festival
- Saturday, May 9, 2009, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. European Union Open House. The Embassies of the European Union and the Delegation of the European Commission to the United States will open their doors to the public, offering a rare look at the diverse EU cultures. The event kicks off Europe Week, which continues through May 16.
Getting to the Embassies
All participating Passport DC embassies are located in the NW quadrant of Washington, DC, and most are along three major corridors - Massachusetts Avenue, Connecticut Avenue, and 16th Street. See a map of the embassies. Parking is limited in most of the areas. Free shuttle transportation will be available for open houses.
