American swimmer Kate Ziegler missed her mark and did not make the final cut to compete in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Ziegler broke the world record in the 1500m freestyle demolishing Janet Evans' old record by nearly 10 seconds in June 2007. She won two gold medals at the 2007 World Aquatics Championships in Melbourne and the same two events at the 2005 World Aquatics Championships in Montreal. At such a young age, Ziegler has lots of advantages and is a swimmer to watch for years to come.
