Washington Kastles – Summer Tennis Tournaments in Washington, DC

The Washington Kastles begin their second season of Advanta World TeamTennis (WTT), bringing live tennis tournaments to Washington, DC in July 2009. The Kastles, owned by local entrepreneur Mark Ein, will be led by ten-time Grand Slam singles champion Serena Williams. The 34th season of World TeamTennis, co-founded in 1974 by tennis legend Billie Jean King, runs from July 7-26 and concludes with the Advanta WTT Finals. Throughout the season, the Washington Kastles will actively work with Washington DC charities and community organizations to share the mission of WTT and bring the game of tennis to the broader community.

Kastles Stadium will return to City Center DC, (the old Convention Center) with an expanded, nearly 3,000 seat stadium. In addition to their seven home matches, the Kastles will also host the 2009 Advanta WTT Championship Finals, which will be played for the first time in Washington, DC on Sunday, July 26th.

Washington Kastles Tickets

Tickets for all seven home matches and the Advanta WTT Finals go on sale to the general public on Monday, May 11th at 10 am through www.washingtonkastles.com or Ticketmaster. Season tickets, season boxes and group sales can be purchased by calling 202-4TENNIS (483-6647).
